Drug Education Successes From Students

Can you tell us what you thought of the talk and why?

I thought this talk was very helpful to me. It helped me to think about decisions I was about to make. This decision could kill me!! Now I know that. And I know what to tell people if they ever decide to make a decision like that. Thank You!!

Can you tell us what you thought of the talk and why?

It was a very interesting talk because I didn't know that much about it and I have some people I know that do drugs and they been trying to get me to do it because from the group I'm the only one who hasn't tried it.

Did your thoughts about drugs change after hearing the talk?

Yes, I think it changed because after hearing this I really don't have any thoughts about trying it and I'm not that curious anymore.

How can you use what you learned in the talk?

I can go tell those people I know that do it what goes on inside every time they sniff, inject or smoke.

Can you tell us what you thought of the talk and why?

I really liked this talk taught me a lot. (sic) I will share this with other people. You taught me a lot.

Did your thoughts about drugs change after hearing the talk?

Yes, because my dad is in jail because of drugs and I wouldn't wanna end up like him when I grow up so I'm going to stop now.

Did your thoughts about drugs change after hearing the talk?

Yes, my thoughts did change. I'm a smoker and i've seen the commercials for the effects of what happens to you when you smoke. I thought that these things happen to one in a million people. But after you said smoking is the number one cause of death from drugs, it make me think that could happen to me. I'm going to quit smoking!

"I thought you gave me the speech of my life. You made me realize that my mind is the most valuest thing I have in my life".

"I thought the talk was one of the most helpful advice I ever had because I know what is going to happen if I do drugs. I can use one word to change my life from being a disaster".

"Your speech has convinced me not only to not take drugs but ensure my friends and family know the dangers of drugs as well.".

"Someone asked me to do ecstasy a day after the talk and I said no because I remembered what the speaker said about it".

I really liked the talk because I thought what I knew of drugs was all I needed to know but I was wrong. He showed the actual damage that drugs do. By him also sharing his own experience was great because it really showed he knows what things are and how they work. It was a great experience. Thank you!

My thoughts (about drugs) changed very much. I was in the mind set where if I only do things on the weekend it's okay, but in reality the day doesn't matter, it has the same effect. I realized taking or doing drugs for "fun" truly isn't worth it in the long.

I can use what I learned to teach others. I can relay as much as I can to my peers to give them the knowledge that I now have.

Drug Education Successes From Students

I found it this talk very interesting. The speaker was informative, but most important, entertaining. If he hadn't entertained us while he was giving out facts, not many of the students would have paid attention and even fewer would have committed the information to memory. Nothing's worse than someone droning on about some repeated topic.

My thoughts about drug changed a bit, I've had drug education before, and I know the risks, but I recently was thinking about hashish. Now I'm not even considering it.

The information helped to explain why the drug addicts in my family do what they do.

Dear Laci,

I would like to thank you for sending Jesse Crosby to our PATH Program on Tuesday January 29. Jesse was very interesting to hear from. He has information I never even heard of. Usually at school if they talked about drugs I would already know that information but most of the things Jesse taught me was new. (sic) I like how I learned about multiple drugs and different effects of them. I learned new things that was shocking, but by learning about them, I became more cautious of what I was dealing with. Thank you for having him again, I took a lot of information I could comprehend in the future.

To Laci,

I would like to thank you for sending Jesse Crosby to our PATH Program on Tuesday January 29. Jesse was amazing during his whole presentation. He really opened my eyes and made me realize that I am slowly on my way to a bad downward path. I know that I screwed up before in the past but I'm glad I did. I believe you have to suffer in order to succeed. Jesse informed me of his life story and it really touched me. He is an inspiration to all kids my age. I'm glad that he goes around informing kids of what they are doing to themselves. His story gives us hope because he has been through it all and still manages to do something he loves.

To Laci,

I would like to thank you for sending Jesse Crosby to our PATH Program on Tuesday January 29. Jesse was a great teacher to teach us more about drugs. He has a background that can refer to many students in the classroom. He can understand what students would talk about. Since he has done drugs before and what happened to his child, he told me that drugs can cause many bad things. I hope that Jesse comes to our Path Program again because he is a great influence and he had taught me many things about different types of drugs and different affects.

Dear Tony and James,

I'd like to thank you for your visit at my school, DH High School. Your lecture actually taught me a lot. The approach you used was relatable and easy to understand. I didn't feel like you were lecturing us about the path we HAD to take in our futures, but more about the ones we should steer away from, giving us valid reasons why. It was a pleasure to listen to a lecture that taught me something in a non-depressing way! This was the first drug lecture that didn't leave me feeling depressed, I just felt I had more knowledge about the subjects.

You guys are good at speaking to groups. I respect what you are doing for the next generations and I appreciate what you did for our class. Congratulations on your personal success in recovery, it's a really cool thing what you're doing with your life. You affected mine!

Thank you again,

Love,
Destiny C.
